Portable Credentials, User Custody
Moca Foundation and Moca Network, a flagship project of Animoca Brands, have launched the mainnet of Moca Chain, a blockchain built specifically to issue, verify, update, and revoke digital identity credentials.
The network supports portable credentials that users can present to different applications without repeating the original identity or eligibility check. Rather than handing over personal documents each time, users hold their own credentials and choose what to share and with whom. Issuers can update or revoke a credential when the underlying status changes, with every connected application reflecting that update automatically.
Organizations can issue credentials covering a range of use cases, from KYC verification and membership tiers to event ticket ownership and other eligibility claims. The model reduces the amount of sensitive data that individual businesses need to store.
Animoca Brands co-founder Yat Siu framed the problem bluntly. "People should not have to hand over their personal information again and again to every service they use, especially as AI agents start acting on our behalf," he said at launch.
AIR Connects Businesses and AI Agents
The mainnet launch is paired with AIR, Moca Network's integration layer for identity, payments, and loyalty. AIR is built on Moca Chain and gives businesses a single integration point for onboarding users and their AI agents. Companies can convert existing customer verification checks into portable credentials on Moca Chain, or accept credentials issued by trusted third parties.
The AI agent angle is a notable extension of the model. Moca Network says AIR is designed to let AI agents perform tasks on behalf of users while users retain control over their personal data and permissions, giving businesses a way to verify not just who a user is, but what their agent is authorized to do.
AIR's ecosystem includes integrations with consumer platforms, fintech companies, loyalty programs, and agentic commerce projects. Partners named by Moca Network include SK Planet, OneFootball, Automobili Lamborghini, Nansen, Open Campus, Plume, and others, with integrations planned for completion through 2026.
Kenneth Shek, managing director of Moca Network, described the launch as a starting point rather than a destination. "Launching mainnet is a foundation, not a finish line," he said, pointing to AIR as the primary commercial focus going forward.
