Stand With Crypto, a cryptocurrency advocacy organization launched by Coinbase, has announced support for several US congressional candidates as the 2026 midterm elections approach.
The group, which was created in 2023 to advocate for clearer rules for the digital asset industry, is supporting candidates from both major political parties in several important Senate and House races.

Senate Candidates Receive Crypto Industry Support
Among the Senate candidates receiving support from Stand With Crypto are Republican Jon Husted of Ohio, Republican Ashley Hinson of Iowa, and Democrat Chris Pappas of New Hampshire.
Husted is seeking to retain his Ohio Senate seat and is running against Democrat Sherrod Brown. The Ohio race has already attracted significant spending from organizations connected with the cryptocurrency sector.
Stand With Crypto has also announced endorsements in House of Representatives races. Those candidates include Republican Mariannette Miller-Meeks of Iowa and Democrat Shomari Figures of Alabama.
Earlier, the organization had announced support for dozens of House candidates it described as supportive of digital-asset policy.
CLARITY Act Becomes an Important Crypto Policy Issue
Cryptocurrency regulation has become an important issue in the 2026 election cycle following developments surrounding the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, commonly known as the CLARITY Act.
The legislation previously passed the US House of Representatives with bipartisan support in 2025. However, on September 15, 2026, it failed to receive enough Senate votes to advance through a crucial cloture vote.
A change in control of either chamber of Congress after the midterm elections could affect how lawmakers handle digital-asset legislation, including future efforts related to crypto market structure.
Following the unsuccessful Senate vote, Stand With Crypto publicly criticized lawmakers who did not support advancing the legislation.
Crypto Political Spending Continues to Grow
Cryptocurrency companies and political action committees are also spending significant amounts during the election cycle.
Fairshake PAC, which has received substantial backing from companies and investors including Coinbase, Ripple Labs and Andreessen Horowitz, announced plans to spend an initial $30 million supporting Jon Husted in his Ohio Senate race.
According to figures cited by Cointelegraph, Fairshake had spent approximately $82 million on candidates across the United States as of June 2026.
The growing political activity shows how digital-asset regulation has become a significant policy issue in Washington. The results of the 2026 congressional elections could influence how legislation covering cryptocurrency exchanges, token markets and the broader digital-asset industry is considered during the next congressional session.
