#ukfcawinscourtordertorecover851400pounds
The UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) just scored a major legal victory by securing a court order to claw back £851,402 from a fraudulent cryptocurrency investment scheme.
Here is what actually happened:
Between 2017 and 2019, scammers Raymondip Bedi and Patrick Mavanga ran a cold-calling operation, tricking people into buying fake crypto investments through entities known as "CCX Capital" and "Astaria Group". In total, at least 65 innocent investors were scammed out of a staggering £1.54 million.
The Court’s Verdict:
Thanks to the FCA's relentless crackdown on unauthorized operators, Southwark Crown Court ordered Bedi to pay back £603,404 and Mavanga to return £247,998. That’s £851,402 going directly back to the victims! If the fraudsters fail to pay, they face up to 5 additional years behind bars.
While this recovery covers about half of the total £1.54M lost, it sends a crystal clear message to the market: regulators are no longer just writing rules—they are actively hunting down bad actors and recovering stolen funds.
Crime doesn't pay in Web3. Stay safe out there and always do your own research (DYOR) before handing over your funds! 🔐
