🚹 THE ENERGY WAR ISN’T JUST ABOUT OIL — IT’S ABOUT WHO CONTROLS THE FLOWS.

Trump’s energy strategy is increasingly colliding with Iran, Russia and Venezuela at the same time.

In Iran, Washington is keeping heavy pressure on Tehran while talks over reopening the Strait of Hormuz remain unresolved. Trump has also publicly floated the idea that the U.S. could maintain a presence in Iran tied to oil interests, drawing a comparison with Venezuela.

Russia is facing tighter Western sanctions and fresh pressure on export routes, while Moscow is restricting disclosure of energy data to make sanctions harder to enforce.

And in Venezuela, U.S.-linked firms are gaining a larger role in oil production under new arrangements that reduce some Chinese and Russian involvement.

That makes the bigger question:
Is the U.S. trying to secure energy dominance by squeezing rivals while expanding control over alternative supply?

Because if oil flows become more politicized, the consequences won’t stop at crude.

They hit inflation, the dollar, U.S. Treasuries, and global risk assets.

Energy power → financial power.
