@Strategy has added another 1,666 $BTC to its corporate treasury, spending roughly $138 million at an average acquisition price of approximately $82,833 per coin. The transaction lifts the firm's cumulative $BTC holdings to 847,666 coins, reinforcing its standing as the world's largest publicly traded corporate holder of Bitcoin.

Relentless Accumulation

The latest purchase continues a buying programme that has been running without interruption since 2020. Strategy describes itself as the largest institutional holder of Bitcoin and the world's first Bitcoin Treasury Company. The company has leveraged both debt and equity to maximise its Bitcoin holdings, taking advantage of market conditions to buy during dips and issuing convertible debt and equity to finance these purchases.

Strategy now describes itself as a Bitcoin treasury company rather than a traditional software vendor, with its capital allocation and corporate identity closely tied to holding and managing digital assets. That repositioning has been years in the making. In September 2020, its board adopted a Treasury Reserve Policy under which Bitcoin serves as the primary treasury reserve asset on an ongoing basis.

Scale and Market Context

Strategy holds more than 4% of Bitcoin's total 21 million supply. At that scale, each new purchase moves the needle not just for the company's balance sheet but for broader market sentiment. Strategy's holdings significantly exceed those of major Bitcoin ETFs and country-level sovereign holdings, placing it clearly at the top of the institutional ownership table.

The September 2026 buy comes after a period of active capital management. During the week of September 14 to 20, 2026, Strategy used USD Cash both to repurchase STRC preferred stock and to purchase Bitcoin. Earlier in the year, the company grew its Bitcoin holdings by 11%, reduced its convertible debt by 18% to $6.7 billion, and grew Bitcoin Per Share by 5%.

With 847,666 $BTC now on its books and a clearly defined treasury mandate, @Strategy shows no sign of slowing its accumulation. Each filing reinforces the same message: the company is building a long-term Bitcoin reserve, not managing a short-term trade.
