Stay safe, mate, a scammer's always one step ahead of ya
This gotta be one of the cleverest crypto scams I’ve seen in a hot minute
Some geezer basically set up a fake blockchain and tricked proper users into bridging their cash straight into it
Right, here’s how it went down:
GIWA is a legit Ethereum L2 tied to Upbit
Only one big problem though: the GIWA mainnet hadn't even launched yet, innit
These scammers knew everyone was dead excited waiting for it, so they built a whole fake setup off the back of that hype

They created a fake EVM chain, slapped GIWA’s real Chain ID (9134) on it, sorted out an RPC, and apparently built a dodged bridge that let people transfer proper assets into the fake network
So you’d add the new network to your wallet, the RPC responds all fine, your wallet shows 9134, transactions go through smoothly... looks completely legit, yeah?
Except Chain IDs don't mean jack when it comes to proof
The scammers pretty much cloned GIWA’s number plate and stuck it on a completely different car

So real funds leave Ethereum—or whatever proper chain they were using—and land straight into the gear controlled by whoever built that dodge bridge
Turns out people lost about 2 million quid to this scam
