WEEKLY GLOBAL MARKET UPDATE | SEPTEMBER 21–25, 2026

Another week, another big shift across the markets. Crypto started strong, while gold and silver came under pressure and oil remained highly volatile. Here’s what happened.

Crypto: Bitcoin pushed above $87K early in the week, but later pulled back and finished around $84K. Ethereum also remained volatile as traders reacted to changing rate expectations, market liquidity and regulatory developments.

Gold & Silver: Gold ended the week around $4,271/oz, down a little over 2% as a stronger dollar and higher Treasury yields pressured precious metals. Silver also moved lower, finishing near $64.3/oz, down roughly 3.5% for the week.

Oil: Crude prices remained one of the biggest market stories. Brent finished around $104.32, up slightly for the week, while WTI closed near $92.41, down around 8% as markets reacted to Middle East developments and hopes of a possible U.S.-Iran truce.

Stocks: Wall Street had a stronger week. The S&P 500 gained 1.2%, the Nasdaq rose 2.1%, and the Dow added 0.3%. Tech and AI stocks helped lift the market, while falling oil prices eased some pressure on investors.

The big picture: Markets are still moving quickly, and next week the focus will remain on interest rates, Treasury yields, oil prices, geopolitics and whether the crypto rebound can continue.
