$BTC : $15.6 Billion in Options Set to Expire

BTC options worth approximately $15.6 billion are set to expire on September 25. This volume represents about 37% of the BTC open interest on Deribit, making it a significant event for the derivatives market.
The current structure leans toward call options, with a put/call ratio of around 0.7 meaning the volume of call options exceeds that of put options.
However, a major expiration event can also shift hedging activity and short-term liquidity.
BTC is down about 2.8% over the past 24 hours as the market approaches this massive expiration.
Consequently, post-expiration volatility may reveal the true strength of buying pressure once a portion of the derivatives positions is unwound.
Do not focus solely on whether BTC rises or falls leading up to the expiration date. What matters more is the capital flow that remains after leverage and hedging positions are reset.
