The European Commission is asking whether staking needs dedicated rules in its review of MiCA, but it has not proposed a staking license, capital requirement or final policy. The consultation is open until Sept. 30 at 23:59 CEST and could eventually inform legislation amending MiCA. New requirements could improve user protections while increasing costs and concentrating staking among larger regulated firms.
