The Ethereum Foundation has transferred approximately $2.45 million worth of $ETH to an unlabelled Gnosis Safe multisig wallet, according to on-chain monitoring by Arkham. The destination wallet has not been identified, so it is currently unclear whether it remains under Foundation control.
The Foundation’s linked address reportedly still holds around $235.46 million in ETH and $23 million in $USDC after the transfer. The movement itself does not confirm that ETH was sold or sent to an external buyer.
That leaves two main possibilities: the ETH could simply have been moved into another Foundation-controlled Safe for treasury management, or it could later be used for an OTC transaction. There is currently no confirmed evidence that an OTC sale has taken place.
The next movement from the receiving Safe will likely provide more context on whether this was an internal treasury transfer or part of a broader ETH sale.
