TRIFI SERIES | EPISODE 2 🧩
DECODING CEFI: THE CENTRALIZED CRYPTO WORLD

We decoded TradFi.
Now enter CeFi.
CeFi = Centralized Finance — financial services operated through centralized companies or platforms that manage the infrastructure and user experience.
In crypto, think of a centralized exchange.

WHAT DOES CEFI DO?
🔹 Trading — buy and sell crypto through a platform
🔹 Custody — the platform can hold your assets for you
🔹 Order books — buyers and sellers are matched through centralized systems
🔹 Services — depending on the platform, users may access products such as staking, earn products or derivatives

REAL-LIFE EXAMPLE
You deposit USDT on a centralized exchange → choose BTC → place a buy order → the platform processes the transaction and records your balance.
You don't need to interact directly with a blockchain for every action.

That's the key idea:
TradFi → centralized financial institutions
CeFi → centralized crypto platforms

But what if you don't want a centralized intermediary?
That's where things get very interesting.
