The Fed raised rates by 25 basis points, its first hike since July 2023. The fed funds range now sits at 3.75%–4.0%, a move Wall Street had almost fully priced in.

Bitcoin still traded above $76,000 and majors moved with it. Officials also pointed to limited room for more tightening, which is the signal that mattered more than the hike itself.

A privacy coin jumped about 23% in the same tape, and Paradigm’s Matt Huang framed privacy tech as a complement to bitcoin. Higher rates, risk still bid.
