Poland’s state-controlled refiner Orlen reportedly paid hundreds of millions upfront through Dubai-based intermediaries for Venezuelan crude that never arrived.

More than $132M in $USDT was reportedly transferred via physical USB drives.

A separate $135M conversion allegedly resulted in just $85M, while around $72M in shipping costs were incurred.

The deals came during a temporary easing of U.S. sanctions on Venezuelan oil.

Meanwhile, USDT continues to dominate stablecoin transaction volume, as the chart shows.
