Crypto's next major U.S. vote is not a vote to pass the CLARITY Act.

It is a vote on whether the Senate should advance consideration of it.

The cloture vote is scheduled for September 15 at 2:15 p.m. ET and generally requires 60 votes.

That distinction matters.

If cloture succeeds, the bill moves forward for debate and further action. It does not immediately become law.

If it fails, the bill's near-term path through the Senate becomes much harder, although the SEC can continue working on its own crypto rules.

For $COIN , the opportunity is broader than one vote.

A workable market-structure law could reduce regulatory uncertainty and make it easier to launch, list and support more crypto products in the U.S.

But the final economics depend on the actual rules, amendments and compliance costs.

So I wouldn't trade $COIN as though the vote produces a simple “crypto law passed” result.

I'd watch:

Whether the motion receives the required support.

What changes are made afterward.

And whether the final framework expands Coinbase's addressable business without damaging its revenue model.

The September 15 vote can determine whether the CLARITY Act advances.

It cannot settle what the final law means for crypto investors.
