$BTC According to Crypto.news , Yahoo Finance, Bitcoin.com , CryptoSlate, and CryptoBriefing, a range-proof cache vulnerability in Blockstream’s Elements code allowed the creation of unbacked L-BTC on the Liquid sidechain. Those tokens were sent through SideSwap’s authorized peg-out service, triggering a valid-looking withdrawal of about 3,996 BTC—around 95% of the federation reserve. The attackers later returned 3,400 #Bitcoin after Blockstream patched bridge nodes and shipped an updated Elements release, but roughly 598–600 BTC (about $47–50 million) remains in the attacker’s wallet. Liquid has resumed limited block production, yet transactions and peg-in/peg-out operations are still suspended. Blockstream has said it is working with law enforcement, exchanges, and forensic specialists to recover the remaining funds and close the reserve gap. #Macro Insights# #BTC Price Analysis#
