$VTHO is having one of the craziest moves I’ve seen this week, and the chart starts making sense once you look at what is happening behind the price. The biggest driver right now looks like a short squeeze. Funding rates became deeply negative, showing that a lot of traders were positioned short. Once $VTHO started moving higher, liquidations forced some of those positions to close, adding even more buying pressure. Then volume exploded. Trading activity reached levels several times larger than the token’s market cap, which helped turn an already strong move into those huge daily candles we are seeing on the chart. There is also a bigger VeChain story supporting the attention. The Hayabusa upgrade changed VTHO tokenomics by linking generation more closely to StarGate staking, reducing issuance and burning base transaction fees. VeChain has also reported more than 15B $VET locked through staking, while VTHO reward campaigns are bringing fresh attention back to the ecosystem. Another catalyst on my radar is the upcoming Interstellar upgrade, expected around September 16. It should improve EVM compatibility and make VeChainThor easier for developers to build on. So for me, this pump comes from several things lining up at the same time: crowded shorts getting squeezed, huge speculative volume, tighter VTHO tokenomics, growing staking activity and fresh attention around the VeChain ecosystem. That combination explains why the move became so aggressive so quickly. The next thing I’m watching is volume. If activity stays strong after the squeeze cools down, that would make the move even more interesting.
