$BTC Stuck Under the LTH Supply Ceiling at $83k–$85k – Accumulation Is Happening, But Downside Risk Remains

Glassnode just released an updated Cost Basis Distribution chart for Short-Term Holders (STH) and Long-Term Holders (LTH). The current picture is quite clear:

1. Hard Supply Ceiling from Long-Term Holders

BTC price is currently trapped beneath a thick “ceiling block” of LTH supply around $83,000 – $85,000. This is a zone where a large amount of coins held by long-term investors have their cost basis. When price approaches this area, selling pressure from this cohort often appears as they take profits or reduce risk, making a clean breakout difficult.

BTC has tested this zone multiple times but has still not convincingly reached or broken into the ceiling — exactly as the title states: “Stalled Under the Ceiling Without Reaching It.”

2. Accumulation Is Taking Place at Current Levels

Despite being capped under the LTH ceiling, data shows that investors are still buying at the current price range. The distribution on the right side of the chart reveals a newly forming supply cluster, driven mainly by STH (orange) and partially by LTH.

This is a constructive short-term signal: the market is not panic-selling. Coins are transferring from weaker hands to stronger ones.

3. Key Levels to Watch

- Nearest support: Around $75,000 (the support block). A break below this level would significantly increase selling pressure.

- Old accumulation floor: $60,000 – $65,000. This was a strong base-building area previously. If $75k fails, a full retrace toward this zone becomes highly probable.

📍Summary View

- Base case right now: Sideways consolidation / accumulation under the $83k–$85k ceiling. As long as price holds above $75k, the structure remains constructive for rebuilding demand.

- Risk scenario: Breakdown below the newly forming supply cluster → $75k gets tested → opens the path toward $60k–$65k.

- Positive signal: Coins are being absorbed at current prices, indicating ready buyers
