But there’s a catch: the lower your hashrate compared to the total network hashrate, the lower your chances of success.

That’s why solo mining is often compared to a lottery: you might wait a very long time without finding anything, but one lucky attempt could bring the reward for an entire block.

That’s why most miners join mining pools: instead of chasing a rare jackpot, they receive smaller but much more regular payouts.
