Beating AI News Flash: Former OpenAI second-in-command Fidji Simo joins the board of AI cloud provider Nscale. She left her full-time role at OpenAI in July this year due to worsening neuroimmune disease and currently remains a part-time advisor.Nscale is an OpenAI compute partner and recently signed a 6-year, $45 billion compute contract with Anthropic. Simo will recuse herself from Nscale board matters involving OpenAI.Nscale is preparing for an IPO as soon as this month. Simo previously led Instacart's 2023 listing. Nscale board member Sheryl Sandberg invited her to join the board after she left OpenAI.
