JUDT IN : Colombia has seen growing institutional Bitcoin adoption as AFP Protección, one of the country’s largest pension fund administrators, introduces an investment product offering controlled exposure to Bitcoin. The product is designed as a diversification option rather than a direct Bitcoin-only fund, with clients required to undergo personalized advisory sessions and risk assessments before allocating funds.

Protección becomes the second major Colombian pension institution to offer Bitcoin-linked exposure, following Skandia’s move in 2025. Protección manages roughly $55 billion in assets for more than 8 million clients, making the development another notable step toward institutional adoption of digital assets within Colombia’s financial sector. . $BTC
