Adobe says its AI-first ARR grew more than 150% year over year.
That sounds enormous.
But Adobe finished Q3 with $27.5B in total ARR.
In the previous quarter, AI-first ARR was greater than $500M. Adobe's latest release gave the growth rate but didn't update the absolute amount.
That makes the investment question more difficult.
Adobe has shown that its AI-first offerings can generate recurring revenue.
It has not yet shown that AI-first ARR is large enough to meaningfully accelerate the whole company.
Q3 revenue grew 13% to a record $6.76B, while Adobe still expects total ARR growth of 10.2% for fiscal 2026.
So I wouldn't buy $ADBE because one AI category grew more than 150%.
I'd watch whether:
Adobe begins disclosing a materially larger AI-first ARR base.
Total ARR growth accelerates beyond the current 10.2% target.
And AI growth arrives without weakening Adobe's strong margins.
If those numbers improve together, AI-first revenue may be becoming large enough to move Adobe's overall growth rate.
If AI-first ARR keeps growing quickly while total ARR stays near 10%, the percentage may be more impressive than the business impact.
Adobe has answered whether it can charge for AI.
It hasn't yet answered whether AI is big enough to change Adobe's growth rate.
