Alby has revealed a critical vulnerability in old versions of Alby Hub, a self-hosted Bitcoin-based Lightning wallet.
The vulnerability affects versions with v1.7.0 and higher. The bug allowed attackers to access the wallet and withdraw funds without the owner's permission - but only if the Hub was open on the Internet (available from outside).
Alby solved the problem on September 9, 2026 through X. Users are advised to update Alby Hub to the latest version and check the network access settings.
