Reinforcing Long-Term Token Sustainability

The IOST Foundation has completed the burn of 70 million IOST tokens, permanently removing them from the total token supply.

The tokens originated from IOST’s legacy ERC-20 issuance and were designated for retirement as part of the network’s long-term token management process. With the burn now completed, the 70,000,000 IOST have been permanently removed from circulation.

The transaction represents another step in maintaining a clear and sustainable supply structure as IOST continues to develop its network and ecosystem.

A Continued Focus on Sustainable Growth

Responsible token management remains one part of IOST’s broader approach to long-term ecosystem development.

Alongside this burn, work continues across the IOST ecosystem on strengthening core network infrastructure, improving security and reliability, expanding developer tooling, and making IOST easier to build on and interact with.

Recent development efforts have included improvements to account security, SDK and documentation integration, network and node performance, smart contract security reviews, and continued development of new on-chain tools.

Together, these efforts are focused on building a stronger technical foundation for IOST and supporting sustainable participation across the network.

Moving IOST Forward

As IOST enters its next phase of development, the Foundation will continue working across infrastructure, developer experience, ecosystem products, and network security while maintaining a responsible approach to the token economy.

IOST holders can also participate directly in the network through staking, contributing to network security while earning staking rewards.

More development and ecosystem updates will be shared through IOST’s official channels.
