Ethereum just took a real step toward killing seed phrases as the only way to use a wallet.

Core devs scheduled EIP-8141 for the upcoming Hegotá upgrade — bringing native Account Abstraction into the base protocol instead of leaving it as an add-on smart contract layer. That means wallets that can recover access without a seed phrase, pay gas in any token, and batch transactions natively, all without relying on third-party infrastructure.

Here's the twist: there's a competing proposal, EIP-8130, gaining its own traction with a planned Base launch in September. Two different paths to the same goal, racing on different timelines.

This is infrastructure-level stuff that never trends the way a price pump does, but it's exactly the kind of change that makes Ethereum easier for normal people to actually use. That matters more for long-term adoption than almost any headline number.
