CRYPTO EVENING REVIEW — 30 AUGUST 2026
Market regime: 🟢 Recovery improving / 🟠 macro still restrictive
Crypto has strengthened through Sunday rather than extending Friday’s hawkish-Fed selloff. Live Binance data shortly before 6 PM UK time has Bitcoin around $79,250 (+1.56%/24h), Ethereum $2,527 (+3.11%), XRP $1.424 (+2.34%), HBAR $0.0756 (+0.29%) and XLM $0.1824 (+1.90%). XDC is around $0.0279, up roughly 0.8%.
The message from today’s crypto session is therefore important:
Friday’s macro shock has been absorbed, and capital is beginning to rotate back into higher-beta crypto — but BTC has not yet reclaimed the $80K breakout level.

🌍 GLOBAL MARKET BACKDROP
Because it’s Sunday, the major Asian, European and US cash equity markets are closed. The relevant traditional-market reference remains Friday’s close, while Gulf markets traded today.
Friday’s global session deteriorated after Fed Chair Kevin Warsh’s Jackson Hole remarks raised the implied probability of a September hike from roughly 35% to 56%. The dollar and short-term Treasury yields rose while global equities weakened.
US Friday close: the S&P 500 fell roughly 0.25%, Nasdaq about 0.52%, while the Dow was essentially flat. Europe fared better: the STOXX 600 gained about 0.5% and the FTSE 100 added 0.3%.
The macro reference points remain roughly:
US 10Y: ~4.73%
Dollar Index: ~99.7
Brent: ~$89
Gold: sharply lower after Friday’s ~3% fall.
And we got another useful risk signal today: Gulf equities declined, with Saudi Arabia down around 0.7%, as markets continued digesting higher Fed-rate expectations.
Oil also gets a fresh catalyst tonight after President Trump said Venezuelan oil from a new agreement would be used to replenish the US Strategic Petroleum Reserve. The immediate price impact is uncertain, but energy remains an important inflation variable for crypto traders.

⚡ XRP — BACK ABOVE $1.40
XRP has improved significantly today.
Current price:
~$1.424
24-hour Binance range:
$1.3817 → $1.4258
XRP is therefore trading almost exactly at its daily high.
That’s the behaviour bulls wanted after yesterday’s support test.
Key XRP levels
$1.40 — immediate support/pivot
Below:
$1.38
$1.36
$1.30 — major structural invalidation
Above:
$1.45
$1.50 — major breakout trigger
$1.67–$1.70 — major resistance
Ideal setup
Hold $1.40 → reclaim $1.45 → break $1.50
A $1.50 break while BTC remains stable would materially strengthen the altcoin continuation thesis.
The risk remains leverage. XRP’s previous push toward $1.66 ended with forced liquidation, so I would much rather see a gradual move alongside spot buying than another vertical leveraged candle.
XRP bias: 🟢 Bullish above $1.40.
🔄 ALTCOIN ROTATION IS IMPROVING
Ethereum’s +3.1% gain today is actually one of the most useful market signals.
BTC is higher, but ETH is outperforming.
XRP and XLM are also outperforming BTC.
That’s exactly what you’d expect if capital begins rotating outward rather than concentrating entirely in Bitcoin.
$XLM
~$0.1824 (+1.9%)
24-hour high:
~$0.1825
Levels:
$0.18 = support/reclaim
$0.185 = momentum confirmation
$0.20 = major breakout
XLM remains the most interesting short-term momentum setup of the three smaller assets.
$HBAR
~$0.0756
HBAR is lagging today.
Levels remain:
$0.074–$0.075 = support
$0.078 = reclaim
$0.080–$0.082 = real breakout
I’d wait for confirmation rather than front-run it.
$XDC
XDC is around $0.0279, up about 0.8%, with today’s range roughly $0.02744–$0.02787.
The issue is still liquidity.
XDC can move quickly once rotation arrives, but position sizing should reflect its thinner market.boo
