$BTC Russia's Sberbank Plans to Accept BTC, ETH, and USDT as Loan Collateral

Sberbank, Russia's largest bank, plans to expand its lending operations to include cryptocurrency specifically Bitcoin, Ethereum, and USDT as collateral once the new regulatory framework takes effect.

🔸 Deputy Chairman Anatoly Popov stated that the bank already possesses practical experience with digital assets and intends to adapt existing products to gradually expand its service offerings.

🔸 The plan still requires regulatory approval, $ETH and USDT can only be utilized once the Central Bank of Russia authorizes their public circulation.

👉 Sberbank's move marks a significant step forward for cryptocurrency adoption in Russia. A major bank accepting BTC, ETH, and stablecoins as collateral would provide crypto investors with easier access to loans. However, the initiative remains contingent on the regulatory framework and decisions made by the Central Bank of Russia. This is a trend worth watching as traditional banks become increasingly open to digital assets.

💬 Do you think other major banks will quickly follow Sberbank's lead? Could this shift the banking sector's perspective on cryptocurrency?
