Prom (PROM) is suddenly getting a lot more attention across the crypto market, with its price around $7.38 and 24-hour trading volume reaching roughly $167–175 million.
What makes the move interesting is that PROM is not a new token. Prometeus has been around since 2019, but recent market activity has brought it back into the spotlight.
PROM’s market cap is currently around $134.7 million, with about 18.25 million tokens circulating out of a maximum supply of 19.25 million. That means roughly 94.8% of the maximum supply is already circulating, reducing the risk of major future supply unlock pressure compared with many low-float tokens.
The biggest catalyst appears to be the recent Upbit listing in August, which was followed by a major increase in trading activity and price momentum.
Binance traders can access PROM through the PROM/USDT spot pair, while PROMUSDT perpetual futures are also available. Other major exchanges, including Upbit, Bithumb, Gate, KuCoin and MEXC, are also seeing activity.
But there’s an important detail here: PROM is still a relatively small-cap, high-volatility altcoin. When volume suddenly explodes, price can move extremely fast in both directions. Large orders can also face slippage if market liquidity becomes thinner.
So, what exactly is PROM?
The project originally launched as Prometeus Network, focused on decentralized data exchange. It later evolved into Prom, with a focus on a ZK-EVM Layer 2 built using Polygon CDK, alongside GameFi, NFTs, rentals and lending. The PROM token is used for things such as gas fees, governance and platform services.
PROM is still far below its previous all-time high of $106.12, recorded in April 2021. That may attract traders looking for recovery stories — but being far below an ATH does not automatically mean a token is undervalued.
Right now, the real story is momentum.
High volume + a sharp price move + fresh exchange-driven attention = a token worth watching closely.
