That sounds bearish. It probably isn’t a forecast.
Reaching max pain would require a 13% drop before settlement. Meanwhile, the actual positioning is much closer: $236M in calls at $75K, $157M at $80K, and more than $500M of notional within 5% of spot. Calls also outnumber puts 44,639 to 37,061, giving a 0.83 put/call ratio.
🟢 A clean hold above $80K could force hedges to adjust and reopen $82K–$85K.
🟡 Rejection at $80K makes $75K the realistic expiry magnet.
🔴 $68K only becomes relevant if an external macro shock overwhelms spot demand.
