Hyperliquid has approved and launched AQAv2, a major upgrade that will send around 90% of the yield generated from roughly $5 billion in USDC reserves toward buying back and burning HYPE tokens. The move builds on the Circle-Coinbase USDC setup and takes Hyperliquid’s existing fee-funded buyback strategy a step further.
The first payout is expected on October 3. If the system performs as planned, a large share of the yield from those reserves will regularly flow back into HYPE through buybacks and burns, creating another mechanism for reducing the token’s supply while supporting its value.
