On my way home, I was thinking about how quickly the meaning of “privacy” is changing in crypto. Europe is moving toward stricter rules, and many people immediately assume that privacy-focused projects must be in trouble.
But I think that misses the bigger picture.
Dusk is not simply about hiding everything from everyone. Its direction is much closer to privacy with selective disclosure — allowing sensitive information to stay private while still supporting regulated financial workflows. Dusk describes itself as infrastructure for regulated digital assets, combining privacy, auditability and deterministic settlement.
That is where Citadel becomes interesting.
Citadel 2 allows users to prove that they hold a valid credential without putting their personal details or the exact credential used on-chain. A service can still apply its own compliance and access policies while unnecessary personal information remains protected.
For me, this is the real conversation around $DUSK .
The future may not be “privacy versus regulation.” It could be privacy designed to work with regulation.
If Dusk can continue building that bridge between institutional requirements and genuine user privacy, then the regulatory shift may become an opportunity rather than a threat.
I’m watching $DUSK closely. The interesting question is no longer whether privacy will survive — it is what kind of privacy will survive in regulated markets?
