Dusk XSC: A Simpler Way to Think About Privacy in Finance
I’ve been looking more closely at Dusk Network’s XSC standard and the part that stands out to me is how practical the idea is.
Financial information often needs to be checked but that doesn’t mean everyone should be able to see it. A person may need to prove they are eligible for an investment or meet certain rules without putting their full private details on a public blockchain.
That’s where XSC comes in. In simple terms it is built around selective disclosure. You can prove something when it needs to be proven while keeping unrelated information private.
I think this is an important difference when talking about blockchain and real financial markets. Privacy here isn’t about hiding everything. It’s about having better control over what gets shared and with whom.
Dusk has also been expanding its developer side. The recent DuskEVM testnet gives Solidity developers a more familiar environment to work with while DUSK is used for gas network fees and staking.
The XSC standard alone won’t solve every problem in financial markets. But if the technology can make privacy and compliance work together without making applications unnecessarily complicated it could be a useful piece of the puzzle.
That practical balance is probably what deserves more attention.
