Last week I almost got liquidated on an XRPUSDT perpetual.
I went long after a clean breakout and sized the position at 3% of my account.
My equity sat around 0.145 XRP.
One sharp wick later it dropped hard to 0.115 XRP. I cut the loss early and recovered slightly to 0.146 XRP, but the drawdown was unnecessary and stressful.
Since then I’ve locked in one non-negotiable rule:
Never risk more than 1% of the account on any single futures trade.
Same setups, completely different equity curve — much smoother growth and far less stress.
Simple rule. Massive difference in account health.
