$XRP caught my attention for a different reason today: the rally is real, but price is now sitting right where chasing starts becoming expensive.

XRP is around $1.49, up roughly 9.3% in 24H, with about $16.35B in 24H volume. The latest 24H range is roughly $1.37–$1.68, meaning volatility has expanded sharply.

The bigger picture is even more interesting. XRP moved from roughly $0.99 on Aug. 18 to $1.45 by Aug. 21, with daily volume accelerating from hundreds of millions into the multi-billion-dollar range.

That tells me the dominant story is momentum expansion followed by profit-taking, not a quiet breakout setup.

The short-term trend is clearly bullish, but XRP is stretched. One current market reading has RSI above 80, while price is consolidating after the sharp advance.

What I like

• Strong volume expansion behind the rally

• Higher-high / higher-low structure

• Heavy liquidity and turnover

• Institutional demand has been cited as a recent support factor

What I don't like

• Price is close to the $1.68–$1.70 resistance/liquidity zone

• The 24H range is already wide

• RSI is overheated

• Chasing at $1.49 gives poor protection if momentum fades

Levels I'm watching

Resistance: $1.68–$1.70 — recent major high/liquidity area

Support: $1.37–$1.40 — current 24H demand zone

Deeper support: $1.26–$1.30 — prior breakout structure

Invalidation: sustained loss of $1.26 would seriously damage the current bullish structure.

My trade decision

WAIT / CONDITIONAL LONG

I don't want to buy directly into resistance.

The setup becomes interesting if XRP breaks $1.68, holds above it, and retests the breakout with strong participation.

Entry: ~$1.66–$1.69 after confirmed reclaim/retest

SL: $1.56

TP1: $1.80

TP2: $1.95

TP3: $2.10

Using $1.68 entry and $1.56 SL:

Risk ≈ 7.1%

TP1 reward ≈ 7.1% → 1:1 R:R

TP2 reward ≈ 16.1% → 2.3:1 R:R

TP3 reward ≈ 25.0% → 3.5:1 R:R

So TP1 alone doesn't excite me. The trade only becomes attractive if the breakout has enough momentum to reach the higher structural targets.

There is also a fundamental backdrop worth watching: Ripple recently announced investments in ZILO and Licuido to expand regulated digital-asset infrastructure around the XRPL.

For me, this is a “let price prove it” situation. Missing the first few percent is cheaper than buying the top of an extended candle.

Will $XRP reclaim $1.68–$1.70 with volume, or will this rally need a deeper reset before buyers return?
