DUSK AND THE SHIFT FROM TOKENIZED ASSETS TO NATIVE ONCHAIN ISSUANCE
I’ve been looking at the asset lifecycle side of onchain finance and one thing keeps standing out putting an asset onchain isn’t the same as making the asset truly native to the chain
Digitization just makes an existing record easier to handle Tokenization gives an existing asset an onchain representation but ownership custody and settlement can still rely heavily on traditional systems
Native issuance goes deeper The asset is created onchain from day one so transfers custody and settlement can potentially follow one consistent set of rules
That’s where I find DUSK interesting Its focus on regulated assets and privacy makes the native issuance question more practical not just theoretical If financial assets are going onchain institutions need more than a token wrapper They need clear ownership controlled access and settlement that can actually work within regulatory requirements
Of course native issuance doesn’t automatically solve liquidity legal recognition or institutional adoption Those are still major hurdles
But I think tokenization is the bridge while native issuance could be the bigger infrastructure shift
So I’m wondering will institutions eventually move toward native onchain assets or will hybrid models remain the easier path
