Public blockchains are great at transparency. But financial markets often need something else too: confidentiality.

Consider a tokenized bond. The market may need to verify that the asset exists, that transfers follow the rules, and that participants are authorized.

But does every participant need to see the exact details of every transaction?

Probably not.

This is where the idea of confidential smart contracts becomes interesting.

is designed around this problem, using its Layer-1 infrastructure and Confidential Security Contract (XSC) standard to support applications where information can remain private while important rules remain verifiable.

The distinction matters.

Privacy doesn't have to mean “trust me, nothing is visible.”

A better model is: keep sensitive information confidential, while still proving that the required conditions have been satisfied.

For financial applications, that could be useful when dealing with ownership, compliance requirements, settlement logic, or other commercially sensitive data.

The broader lesson is worth thinking about:

Blockchain adoption isn't necessarily about choosing between transparency and privacy.

It may be about building systems that know what should be public, what should remain private, and what can be cryptographically verified without exposing everything.
