Privacy in regulated finance becomes interesting when the system has to prove something without revealing everything.
That’s where @Dusk confidential EVM approach caught my attention.
Hedger is designed for confidential EVM workflows using homomorphic encryption and zero-knowledge proofs. The practical idea is more important than the terminology:
private financial data → contract execution → verification → authorized disclosure
Imagine an institution needs to prove that it is eligible to hold a regulated asset without exposing its entire financial position to every participant. An authorized party could still verify the information required for compliance without making the underlying data universally visible.
With programmable privacy, the goal is to separate what must be proven from what must remain confidential.
That creates a much harder test for Dusk: how much information can remain private while compliance is still independently verifiable?
The question I keep coming back to is whether Dusk can keep sensitive financial data private without turning compliance into another opaque trust layer.
That is the part I want to watch in practice.
