Capital.com is preparing to launch spot cryptocurrency trading in the United Arab Emirates after its affiliate, Capital Vault, secured a virtual-asset licence from the UAE Capital Market Authority.
The licence allows Capital Vault to act as an agent or matched principal in virtual-asset transactions and provide custody services.
Once launched, UAE customers will be able to buy and hold actual cryptocurrencies through the Capital.com app, moving beyond the platform’s existing contracts-for-difference (CFD) offering, which provides price exposure without ownership of the underlying assets.
Capital Vault will handle execution, custody and settlement as a separately regulated entity.
The move comes as the UAE continues to expand its regulatory framework for digital assets and attract regulated crypto and financial-services firms.
