Went digging into Dusk's ($DUSK ) stack page after the Aug 15 SME tokenization writeup and noticed something that didn't quite line up. #dusk @Dusk Foundation. Dusk Trade — the actual application layer meant for investor onboarding, wallet binding, controlled transfers, the stuff people picture when they hear "security token infrastructure" — is still marked "Building." Waitlist only, no live product yet.
But the €200M+ in confirmed NPEX issuance and the 20,000+ investor base? That's already running. Through the native L1 directly, which is marked "Live." So the part of the stack that's supposed to make security tokens usable for regular institutional workflows hasn't shipped, and yet real regulated capital is already moving without it.
Hmm — sat with that for a sec. Usually you'd expect the base layer to go live quietly while everyone waits on the flashy app layer to unlock adoption. Here it's flipped. The infrastructure most people will actually interact with is the part still in progress, and the heavy lifting is happening one layer down, out of view.
Makes me wonder whether Dusk Trade shipping actually changes anything for issuers already settled in, or if it's built more for the next wave that hasn't shown up yet.
