Was digging through @Dusk 's own writeup for this task — the Aug 15 piece on SME tokenization, "How Tokenization Opens Private Markets to SMEs" — and almost skimmed past it. Not flashy. But it's maybe the most honest institutional doc I've read from a $DUSK team. #dusk
Here's what stuck: their own six-stage ownership lifecycle diagram doesn't remove the notary. A Dutch BV share transfer still needs a notarial deed. NPEX still needs its AFM license to run as a regulated MTF. The chain just becomes the shared record everyone reconciles against instead of five separate spreadsheets.
Hold up — that's the actual insight. "Permissioned access on a public network" isn't marketing language here, it's the literal design. Dusk doesn't disintermediate the gatekeepers, it digitizes them. Notary, administrator, licensed venue — still deciding, just checking one state instead of chasing five copies.
Flips the usual RWA pitch though. Normally it's "cut the middleman." Here the middleman stays, just gets better tooling. Institutions get the efficiency first, retail gets access later through the Dusk Trade waitlist.
Not mad about it. Just sat with it a minute over lunch. Makes me wonder how much of "regulated DeFi" across the space is actually this — infrastructure built for incumbents, not around them. Still not sure that's a bad thing?
