#dusk $DUSK @Dusk The more I look at Dusk, the more I think its interesting part isn't simply “privacy.”

It’s the problem sitting underneath it: how do you build financial infrastructure where sensitive information can stay confidential without making regulatory oversight impossible?

That is a much harder problem than putting a privacy label on a blockchain.

Dusk approaches it at the protocol level. Its Succinct Attestation consensus separates proposal, validation, and ratification, with provisioners selected through stake-based deterministic sortition rather than having every participant take part in every step.

I also find the separation between Moonlight and Phoenix interesting. Moonlight uses an account-based transparent model, while Phoenix uses a UTXO design that can support both transparent and obfuscated transactions.

Then there is Zedger, which is designed around confidential smart contracts and financial applications.

Taken together, these pieces suggest that Dusk is being built around a fairly specific use case: financial activity where confidentiality, auditability, and compliance have to coexist.

But this is where I think the important question begins.

A technically well-designed network can solve the infrastructure problem without automatically solving the adoption problem. Dusk may be architected for regulated financial markets, but architecture alone doesn't tell us how much real financial activity will eventually move onto the network.
