Been rotating some stables out of lazy yield farms lately and TermMax is the one that's actually made me stop and think.
What got me was realizing how much time I've wasted guessing where variable rates will be next month. Half my "yield strategy" was just vibes. Fixed-rate lending sounds boring until you've been burned by a rate dropping right after you deposited. Locking in a known return up front is such a simple idea that I'm kind of annoyed it took this long to feel normal in DeFi.
The options side is what actually kept me reading though. Being able to pair a fixed-rate position with an options structure in one place, instead of juggling three protocols and praying the gas fees don't eat my edge, is the kind of thing that sounds small but changes how you actually behave. I found myself sizing positions I'd normally skip just because the friction was lower.
Still doing my own due diligence on liquidity depth before going bigger, and I'm always a little skeptical of anything that makes lending feel "solved." Smart contract risk doesn't care how clean the UX is. But the underlying logic separating fixed and floating exposure instead of forcing everyone into the same pool makes more sense to me the longer I sit with it.
Anyone else been testing this out, or am I late to noticing it?
