Will quantum computing actually threaten $BTC?

Asked Lyn Alden this directly. Her take: if quantum breaks Bitcoin, you've got way bigger problems. Your bank accounts, government systems, military infrastructure — all toast before $BTC becomes the issue.

The reality: Bitcoin's encryption isn't uniquely vulnerable. The entire internet runs on similar cryptography. If quantum reaches that level, it's a civilization-scale event, not a crypto-specific one.

Plus, Bitcoin can upgrade. The network has shown it can coordinate hard forks when existential threats appear. Quantum-resistant signatures are already being researched. By the time quantum is a real threat (if ever), Bitcoin will have adapted.

Bottom line: this isn't a reason to avoid holding $BTC long-term. The protocol evolves. Focus on the macro cycle, accumulate on weakness, and let time do the work. Quantum fear is noise.
