CoinGecko still lists about 14.9B coins. ONE is about $0.00073 (about −42% in 7 days). The market is still pricing that 15B, not 2.4 trillion. 📉
The attacker already sold fake ONE for real coins through exchanges and bridges. That value is gone. 💸
Leftover fake ONE mixed into pools and exchange wallets. Burning it now can take honest users' money too.
Harmony is not bringing the stolen money back. It is deleting the fake coins so they stop making honest ONE worth less.
About 109,000 transactions get thrown away (about 96% bots). 🧊
Ethereum did a similar rescue after a 2016 DAO hack. BNB Chain rewound after a 2022 hack. 🏦
In June 2022 Harmony did not rewind after the Horizon bridge lost about $100M. That was real coins walking out. This time the problem is fake coins still sitting on the chain.
If some validators refuse the rewind, the chain can split. ⚠️
Staked ONE from before the rewind should still be there. Any stake, swap, or send after that time is treated as never happened.
If coins sit on a crypto exchange, follow that exchange. Deposits and withdrawals can stay paused until they match the new chain.
