đ¨ Bitcoin Security Alert: Long-Term Holder Loses Entire Account
A long-term Bitcoin (BTC) holder reportedly had all assets withdrawn less than 12 hours after transferring BTC to a major Australian exchange.
According to reports, hackers had allegedly accessed the holderâs Google account for around 3 months, gaining access to email and Google Authenticator credentials through cloud backups. They reportedly waited until BTC was deposited before initiating the withdrawal.
â ď¸ Key security lessons:
⢠Disable Google Authenticator cloud backups where possible
⢠Use hardware security keys such as YubiKey
⢠Keep two security keysâone as a backup
⢠Never rely on a single layer of account protection
đ Your crypto is only as secure as your weakest security layer.
