Everyone thinks holding any altcoin “until next cycle” is patience, but actually it can be like keeping food in the freezer and assuming it will taste fresh 5 years later.

The painful part is that many traders don’t lose money in one big crash. They lose slowly, by watching a bag bleed for years while waiting for the “real pump” to come back.

1) A pump is not always a comeback. Plenty of alts rip once, make everyone think the trend is returning, then go quiet for months or even years. That’s how people end up with 5 years of pain and 0 months of glory.

2) “Next cycle” is not a rescue plan. If you’re still holding bags from 2021, you know the trap: the chart keeps drifting, but the hope stays alive. Even major names like $DOGE, $ETH, and $SOL can move slowly on a given day, but weaker alts often never recover their old highs at all.

3) The warning is simple: don’t treat every old bag like it’s a sleeping giant. Some are just broken umbrellas in a storm. Before holding longer, ask whether the project still has real users, liquidity, builders, and a reason to exist beyond nostalgia.

What’s the hardest part for you: cutting the loss, waiting longer, or knowing when an alt is truly dead?
