$BTC
Something weird happened this week and almost nobody's talking about it.
Good inflation data came out. The kind that usually sends risk assets flying. Stocks jumped on it — Nasdaq, S&P, all green.
Bitcoin? Fell.
Same news. Opposite reaction. That's not supposed to happen.
I spent an hour actually digging into why instead of just screenshotting the chart and moving on, and here's what I think is going on:
Bitcoin's been trading like a tech stock for the last two years. Same triggers, same reactions, moves almost in sync with equities. That correlation just broke, quietly, this week.
When an asset stops moving with the thing it's been mirroring, one of two things is happening. Either it's about to catch up and follow the same direction late. Or the market's starting to price it as something completely different than what it's traded like for years.
Nobody knows which one this is yet. Anyone claiming certainty right now is guessing.
What I do know: $BTC is sitting around $63K, down from where it was even two weeks ago, while the assets it usually tracks are climbing. That gap is either about to close, or it's the start of something new.
I'm not calling a bottom. I'm not calling a top. I'm just watching this specific gap closer than I have in months, because decoupling events like this usually mean something's about to move.
If you've been watching the same divergence, tell me what you think is causing it. Genuinely curious what everyone's theory is before we find out who's right.
Not financial advice. Just tracking a pattern out loud.
