One thing I kept thinking about while reading Dusk wasn’t the privacy tech itself.

It was what “private” actually means in finance.

I used to think privacy simply meant keeping information hidden. But now I’m starting to see it more as having control over what gets revealed, when, and to whom.

And that gets complicated fast.

Regulators need visibility. Businesses need confidentiality. Users don’t want every financial move sitting in public.

So maybe the real challenge isn’t making transactions private. It’s finding a balance where privacy and accountability can coexist.

I’m still wondering: who gets to decide where that line should be?
