Then I looked closer at how identity and credentials are designed to work.

The interesting part isn't simply privacy. It's the shift from Disclosure to verification.

Instead of constantly handing over personal information, the idea is to prove that a specific claim is valid without exposing everything behind it. That changes the user experience: identity becomes something you attest to, rather than something you repeatedly Surrender.

The timing is even more interesting. A credential isn't necessarily a permanent asset that sits around forever. Its usefulness depends on whether the underlying claim remains valid.

That creates a different kind of retention dynamic.

Users may not stay because their data is trapped inside the system. They may stay because rebuilding the same verified credentials somewhere else becomes costly and Inconvenient.

And that leads to the bigger question:

Is demand for institutional identity infrastructure really driven by trust — or by the growing cost of proving who you are everywhere else?

For $DUSK, I think this distinction matters. If regulated RWAs are going on-chain, verification can't just be compliant. It needs to be reusable, privacy-preserving, and Practical.

That's where Dusk gets Interesting.
