I used to think public blockchains simply needed better privacy tools added around the edges. That view now feels incomplete. If real financial activity is going on-chain, privacy can't always be an afterthought.
This is where $DUSK Network caught my attention. It is a layer-1 blockchain focused on financial applications, with the Confidential Security Contract (XSC) standard designed to support confidential smart contracts.
The idea is straightforward: can blockchain provide verifiable transactions without forcing every piece of sensitive information into public view?
That question matters because institutions may hesitate to use open networks if confidentiality conflicts with compliance, business interests, or user privacy.
