Privacy can make financial infrastructure safer, but I don’t think privacy alone creates accountability.

That’s what makes Dusk Network interesting to me. The idea of using confidential smart contracts and the XSC standard to protect sensitive financial information while still keeping things verifiable feels genuinely important.

Because not everything in finance should be exposed to everyone. Salaries, transactions, business agreements, credit decisions, and asset movements can all contain information that deserves protection.

But for me, the bigger question isn’t simply what stays private.

It’s what happens when something goes wrong.

A smart contract can execute exactly as designed and still cause real harm. So who takes responsibility when the code is technically correct, but the outcome isn’t?

That’s where privacy needs to be balanced with accountability.

I like the direction Dusk is taking, but I think the real measure of any financial infrastructure is how it handles failure, not just how well it protects data.

Privacy is valuable.

But accountability is what makes that privacy trustworthy.
